The MAZI NS is Daniele Basta at his most concentrated. A compact belt bag in bull leather, curved like a crescent moon against the waist or slung crossbody, carrying almost nineteen grams of lost-wax-cast silver in two hand-formed ring pulls that serve as both closure hardware and sculptural statement. The silver is warm to the touch when worn against the body, cold when you reach for it in the morning. Over time it oxidizes unevenly, developing the same matte patina that the leather chases from the opposite direction.
The bull leather is finished through a handmade aging process that gives each bag its own geography of tone and texture. The dusty brown surface is deliberately uneven -- darker where the wax settled heavier, lighter at the curved edges where the hide stretched during forming. A fabric tape insert on the front face breaks the leather surface with a raw material contrast that nods to Basta's punk-meets-Renaissance sensibility. This leather will soften with daily contact. The colors and shades will shift and deepen, becoming something that belongs only to you.
