Nostra Santissima laid jacquard patchwork panels over a semi-sheer base to produce something that cannot be read as simply a coat or a dress. The jacquard carries its own woven texture -- a raised, dimensional surface in a darker register than the base beneath it. Where the panels end, the base fabric becomes briefly visible as a translucent layer, so the silhouette shifts between opacity and near-transparency as the wearer moves through changing light. The construction is unlined, which allows this interplay to remain active rather than being sealed off beneath a lining. The weight is light; the coat moves and lifts with air currents in a way that heavier outerwear cannot.
The elongated silhouette falls past the knee with an extended shirt-tail hem, the kind of finish that echoes vestment-making without stating it directly. A pointed collar and full button-front closure provide the tailored anchors that keep the piece from dissolving into pure texture. Buttoned cuffs ground the sleeves at the wrist. The brand's liturgical grammar is present throughout -- not in any overtly symbolic detail but in the way the silhouette and surface together suggest something worn for purpose rather than occasion. Hidden pockets sit flush against the exterior, invisible until needed.
