Thom Krom builds these shorts around a simple material logic. The flame doubleface cotton carries structure and body - it holds the drop-crotch silhouette low and clean without collapsing. The linen inserts cool against the skin where the body generates heat, dry quickly, and soften wash by wash. The linen panels have a dry, textured hand - you feel the woven structure against the skin, distinct from the denser cotton body. Raw-cut at the hem means no finishing tape, no turned edge - just the fabric ending where it ends. The utilitarian pocket configuration (hidden front zip, bellow, welt, and internal safety pocket) keeps the exterior uncluttered. The elastic waistband with drawstring adjusts without a fuss. Nothing here that does not need to be here.
