Lava-Texture Wide Ring

A cross-section of cooled lava, frozen in sterling silver. This wide band from Enri Mars carries the full violence of a volcanic surface -- craters, fissures, and pitted hollows blackened by oxidation, the bright metal ridges catching light like exposed mineral veins in basalt.

Named SINAPSI -- Italian for synapsis, the point where neural pathways connect -- this ring bridges the geological and the cerebral. Handcast in Imola using lost-wax technique, each band begins as a sculpted wax form before transformation into solid silver. The deeply cratered texture is not stamped or pressed but built: layer by layer, cavity by cavity, through hand-finishing processes that ensure no two rings share the same topography. Where mass production demands uniformity, Enri Mars demands geology.

The oxidation treatment darkens every recess and hollow, pushing shadows deep into the craters while the ridges and peaks remain bright. Run a thumb across the surface and you feel the terrain -- rough, irregular, weighted with the density of solid silver. Turn the ring over and the interior tells a different story: smooth, polished, cool against the skin. That contrast is the philosophy made tangible. The rawness faces outward.
